Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, accessing, or using SScan, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the app and discontinue use.

2. Use of the App

• You may use ⛶ SScan for lawful, personal, and non-commercial purposes.
• You are responsible for all content you scan, save, or upload.
• You may not use the app to create, store, or distribute illegal, harmful, or infringing materials.
• All features are provided “as is,” without warranty of uninterrupted availability.

3. Accounts and Authentication

SScan does not require an account to operate locally. For Google Drive synchronization, authentication is handled securely through Google’s OAuth 2.0 service. No passwords or sensitive tokens are stored by the app.

4. Google Drive Integration

• The app can access only its own folder within your Google Drive for backup and sync.
• You retain full ownership of all files. You can delete them anytime from Drive or from within the app.
• The app does not access or modify any unrelated content in your Drive.
• Revoking Drive access is possible at any time from your Google Account settings.

5. In-App Purchases

• Purchases are processed by Google Play Billing and associated with your Google Account.
• The app offers a one-time purchase (“Remove Ads”) that disables advertising.
• All payments are final and governed by Google Play’s refund policy.

6. Advertising

• ⛶ SScan uses native ads only, integrated cleanly into the interface.
• Ads are delivered by Google AdMob and comply with Google’s user experience and data policies.
• Personalized ads are shown only with your explicit consent via the GDPR consent form (User Messaging Platform).

7. Privacy and Data

Your data remains under your control. Documents are stored locally unless you choose to back them up to Google Drive. No user files, images, or text are transmitted to our servers. For more information, see the full Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

All trademarks, graphics, source code, and content within the app are the property of Octavian Fometescu. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without prior written permission.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct or indirect damages arising from:

• Use or inability to use the app,
• Loss of data or backups,
• Errors in OCR or Drive synchronization,
• Issues caused by third-party services such as Google APIs or AdMob.

10. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it. The developer reserves the right to suspend or terminate access if the app is used for unlawful purposes or in violation of these Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and interpreted under the laws of Romania and applicable EU regulations. Any disputes shall be resolved in competent courts within Dolj County, Romania.

12. Changes to Terms

We may revise these Terms occasionally. Updated versions will be posted in the app and on the official website. Continued use after updates implies acceptance of the revised terms.
