The Google Drive API is used exclusively so that users can upload, clean, and restore their personal scan files within their private Drive space. The app never reads or modifies other Drive content outside its own folder. User authentication is handled via OAuth 2.0, and no personal data is stored on external servers.

The app integrates OCR text recognition, text-to-speech, barcode & QR tools, and secure Google Drive backup. Every action is local unless you explicitly choose to upload or sync files.

📷 Document Scanning

• Tap the Scan button (document_scanner) to open your camera.
• Align your document within the frame. The app auto-detects edges and adjusts perspective.
• Edit, crop, or enhance the image before saving.
• Save as PDF or JPG format in the MyScans folder.

📄 PDF Viewer

• Open any PDF to view pages with zoom and scroll.
• Use shareShare to send via Android Share Sheet (Gmail, Drive, etc.).
• Tap delete to remove or drive_file_move to relocate.
• Offline viewing supported. PDFs can be synced to Drive anytime.

🖼️ JPG Viewer

• Tap any image to open in full-screen mode.
• Zoom in/out with pinch gestures.
• Use text_snippetExtract Text to run OCR and convert printed text to digital format.
• Save recognized text as a TXT file or share it directly.

📝 TXT Viewer

• Open TXT documents created from OCR or imported manually.
• Edit, copy, or share text instantly.
• Tap the volume_upTTS button to listen to text via Text-to-Speech.

➕ Merge PDFs

• Tap call_merge to open the merge tool.
• Select multiple PDF files to combine into one document.
• Reorder pages before confirming the merge.
• Save the new file with a custom name in your chosen folder.

✂️ Split PDFs

• Open the split tool via call_split.
• Select the PDF you want to divide.
• Choose page ranges or specify single pages to extract.
• Save each part as a new PDF file, automatically numbered.

📦 Barcode & QR Tools

SScan includes both generator and scanner utilities for barcodes and QR codes.

• The code appears instantly — save it as JPG or export the encoded text as a TXT file.

• When a QR code contains a link, you can open it directly in your browser.
• All scanned results can be shared, saved, or synced via Google Drive.

☁️ Google Drive Sync & Backup

• Sign in with your Google account (OAuth 2.0 authorization).
• Tap cloud_uploadUpload to back up your documents.
• Tap deleteClean Drive to remove outdated folders created by the app.
• All Drive operations are limited to SScan’s private app folder; no other files are accessed.
• You can safely revoke access anytime from your Google Account → Security → Third-party access.

🔊 Text-to-Speech (TTS)

• Open any TXT file or recognized OCR text.
• Tap volume_up to start reading aloud.
• Speech speed and voice can be changed from Android settings → Accessibility → Text-to-Speech Output.

🎨 Native Ads & Purchases

• SScan displays native ads only — small cards integrated within content. No banners or pop-ups.
• Ads are provided by Google AdMob in compliance with GDPR and user consent.
• A one-time in-app purchase removes ads permanently.
• All transactions are processed via Google Play Billing.

💡 Tips & Troubleshooting

• Drive cleanup not working? Make sure you are signed in with the same account used for backup, then tap Clean Drive again.
• OCR accuracy: For best results, use high contrast lighting and clear printed text. Handwritten text is not supported.
• Merge or Split slow? Large PDFs may take longer to process — keep at least 200MB of free space.
• TTS not speaking? Check Android’s Text-to-Speech settings and ensure language packs are installed.
• Camera not opening? Grant camera permission from Android Settings → Apps → SScan → Permissions.
• Native ads showing after purchase? Restart the app once after completing your in-app purchase to apply ad removal.
